Our Mission at The Social Impact Lab Alberta

At The Social Impact Lab Alberta, the human experience is at the core of everything we do. By gaining insights from those directly impacted by social issues, we bring these valuable perspectives into our lab to co-create solutions with those who have the means, knowledge, and influence to drive real change. Our approach is grounded in collaboration and innovation, aiming to address the root causes of societal challenges.

Seeking Bold Ideas

As an Inspire participant, you’ll benefit from the deep well of experience at the Social Impact Lab Alberta and gain the skills to identify and harness bold ideas that can drive significant social transformation. You’ll learn to collaborate with communities and organizations to create and scale impactful projects.

Innovation With Impact

Through the Inspire program, you’ll master the human-centered design process, learning to tackle the root causes of social issues collaboratively. You’ll generate and deliver innovative solutions that benefit citizens and communities. Throughout the course, we’ll profile real-life examples of some of the projects the Social Impact Lab Alberta has undertaken.

Funding the Future

You’ll discover how to develop and iterate concepts for social change, testing their feasibility for scaling. When you understand your problem and your solution’s potential impact, it’s easier to secure funding from various sources to support and grow your impactful projects.

  • Individual Inspire: Designed for people looking to learn on their own.
  • Organizational Inspire: Structured to enable teams to improve project outcomes and work through a problem together. With access to five hours of expert advising, teams can augment their online learning with practical application and advice.
  • Systems Inspire: Created as a transformative journey towards systemic change through cross-sector collaboration, providing a platform for addressing shared community challenges. This program will bring together a group of individuals and organizations representing diverse portfolios to join together in solving systems-level social issues.

  • 5 hours of virtual support from an expert advisor
  • $1,500.00 per team

Systems Inspire
  • Share your systems-level concern with us and collaborate to bring together the right people to innovate around this problem
  • Participate in expert-facilitated workshops over several months to tackle a community-identified issue
